Report on Dragon Tournament 11th March 2012
The 6th Dragon Tournament took place on Sunday 11th of March, sharing the Main Hall at the National Centre with the final weekend of Senior Team Championships of Wales. Despite only being arranged at short notice, 36 entries were received by the organisers across the 3 age groups.
The Under 9s were first away, surprising spectators with their level of playing proficiency for such young players. The final group was closely contested, but in the end Joseph Roberts took the win from Jack ODuffy.
The Under 11s saw more great play as Cade Short managed to go “one better” than the last Dragon and take the win from Jack ODuffy who took home his second runner up trophy of the day.
The big entry of the day was the under 13s, contested by 20 players, including several new faces. However there were no surprises in the final top group as Joe and Jack ODuffy were joined by Joseph Roberts and Morgan Hams to battle it out for the trophies. Joseph Roberts came through on top to take his second win of the day from runner up Joe ODuffy.
