New Table Tennis Academy in Cardiff

This term will see the new opening to the 3rd High School Table Tennis Academy in Cardiff.

This will be opening in Rumney High School which will turn from a 5x60 Table Tennis Club into a Table Tennis Academy in which some of the talented pupils who attend sessions regularly and represent the school and their local club St.Mellons TTC will get the chance to have one to one sessions during their PE lessons from former high school pupil and Regional Coach Simon Oyler.

The school are very happy to have this oppotunity and have put a lot of work and effort into having the academy on their doorsteep. Not only are they supporting the pupils of the school but also the local primary schools with a programme in place to deliver sessions to the primary schools on a term basis.

Keep a look out for updates and see how the Academy grows.

Cathays High Academy New Head Coach

Cardiff City Table Tennis Club Head Coach is to become the new head coach of Cathays Table Tennis Academy.

The Academy has now been running for 4 years and has been a success to many young peoples lives at Cathays. Nathan Thomas is to open a new Table Tennis Club across the road from the school grounds in which he will attract players from the school, local area and across cardiff to attend sessions ona  daily basis at the club.

Regional Coach Simon Oyler said 'I am very happy to pass the table tennis academy onto safe hands. I'v work at the school for 3 years and it is time for the school academy to move on and grow without the benefits of having a regional coach on hand each day. Nathan Thomas is a great coach and with his new club opening very soon this will be a huge benefit to the school and also for Nathan to work and develop the local community. I believe this is going to be the next step for the Academy and will be helping them in their development.

Good Luck with the new set up!!!
