The second Greenhouse Super Series took place today at Tonypandy Community College. With over 40 participantes taking part in 3 catagories. This tournament had some great table tennis on offer accross all catagories, from begginers who showed some huge promise and some great rallies to the International Welsh players.
In the begginners catagory it was made up of 19 participants with players from across Wales, With players coming from Cardiff, Camarthen, Pontypridd and the Rhondda Valleys.
In the closing groups it was Ben Evans of Tonyrefail who took the title after beating Huw Standen and Alasdair Weir of Whitchurch and Connor Priest of Ponty High in the Final group stages, with connor finishing 2nd, Alasdair coming 3rd and in 4th place was Huw Standen.
Albarra El-hussaine showed some great stuff in his first ever tournament by finishing in 12th place and also the young and ever improving Anthony Cowling finished in 16th place.
Under 14's
The under 14s event was won by Callum Evans of Tonyrefail Comp after beating Steffan Jeczalik of Tonypandy in the Final.
Under 19's
In the under 19's it was yet again battled out by the welsh girls, With Charlotte getting the better of Angharad Philips in the Semi-Final she went through to meet Megan Phillips who beat Nicole Hall of Tonyrefail in the other semi final. Charlotte went on to win the match against megan 11-5 11-8 11-5,
After losing in his qualifying group Thomas Goodall of Cathays Table Tennis Academy won the Consilation event by beating Liam Winders of Ferndale 3-2.
WEll done to all the participants for taking part and gaining valuable experiance..

Greenhouse Super Series
The Second round of the Greenhouse Super Series will be taking place at Tonypandy Community College this coming Saturday 19th February.
Players from cardiff making the trip with the regional coach will be,
Huw Standen , Alaisdair Weir of Whitrchurch Academy and Albaraa El-Hussaine of Cathays Table Tennis Academy will be playing in the Year7/Begginers tournament, Along with Year 6 player Anthony Cowling of St.Mellons Table Tennis Club.
Thomas Goodall and Inthrayut Kongchun of Cathays Academy will be playing the the Under 19's catagory whilst Kian Emadi will be playing un the Under 14's Event.
Megan and Angharad Phillips of Ysgol Glantaf will also be making the trip and will be in the Under 19's Event and will be near favourites to win.

Round Two of the Cardiff Schools Table Tennis League Took place last night at Whitchurch High School.
It saw the home Team of Whitchurch winning all there matches, Year 7 and 8 beat Cathays High School 6-3. Whilst Year 9,10 and 11 team beat Plasmawr 6-3. Cathays Year 9,10 and 11 team kept there 100% record by beating Plasmwar 9-0.
Whitchurch Girls Still stand top of the Girls catagory undefeted.
Round Three will be played at Cathays High School on Tuesday 8th March 2011.

Cardiff Schools League East Starts
Cardiff East Schools League Got under way yesturday Wednesday 9th February.
This took place at St.Mellons Community Education Centre and saw a great turn out of young school players taking part in the Cardiff Schools Table Tennis League. All participants were very determind and took up a very competitive edge on the table.
Over 30 Participants took part in the East Regional Qualification 1st round of matches.
Schools present were:
Rumney High School - Year 7&8 Boys and Year 9,10 and 11 Boys
Llanrumney High School - Year 7 and 8 Boys and Year 9,10 and 11 boysCorpus Christi High School - Year 9,10 and 11 Boys x 2 Teams
St.Illtyds High School - Year 7&8 Boys
St.Teilos High School - Year 7&8 Boys
St.Teilos top the table for the Year 7&8 Boys with 3 players all coming from St.Mellons Table Tennis Club. Corpuc Christi High School 2 Lead the Table in the Year 9,10 and 11 followed closely by Rumney High School Boys

On Tuesday 8th February the first Cardiff Schools Table Tennis League took place at Cathays High School.
This saw over 40 participants representing 4 Schools in the West of Cardiff Region.
Schools present were
Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Glantaf - Girls year 7&8 x 2 , Boys Year 7&8, Boys Year 9,10 and 11
Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Plasmawr - Boys Year 9,10 and 11
Cathays High School - Girls Year 7&8 x 2 , Boys Year 7&8 , Boys Year 9,10 and 11
Whitchuch High School - Girls Year 7&8 , Boys Year 7&8 , Boys Year 9,10 and 11
Each Team has 4 players in each team per catagory with two players per team in the girls catagory.

Uwic Academy Launches Successfully
Uwic's New Table Tennis Academy Launched last week with a huge number of participants turning up keen to learn new skills and increase there own development in the sport.
Uwic Academy has got over 30 participants registered and is showing why it could be a great success for the future.

Dragon Grand Prix Round 5.
The last Dragon Tournament of the season had a total of 32 participants taking to the table.
Which saw 10 players from Whitchurch Academy and 6 player from Cathays Academy.
There was some good table tennis played by the youngsters who have only recently joined the sport.
In the Under 15's event Cathays Academy player Haneef Faithal had a great run and went onto win the tournament after beating Connor Priest of Ponypridd High Academy, with Lewis Steere of Whitchurch High Academy finishing in 3rd place.
The Under 11's was won by Camarthen primary player Niall Owen and runner up was Toby Johnson.
Anthony Cowling of St.Mellons Table Tennis Club gave a good account of himself in his first tournament by finishing in 4th place.
The under 13's event was a close call but eventually saw Whitchurch Star Alaisdair Weir run out as the Winner with Ponty Star Connor Priest taking another 2nd place. Munir Gailani of Cathays and Huw Howells of Whitchurch made up the top group.
All players gave a great account of themselves and grew in confidence as the day went on and got some valuable experience from the day.
Well done to everyone taking part in the last Dragon Grand Prix of the Season.

One Day Too Goooo!!
Uwic will be Showcasing its new Table Tennis Academy On Wednesday night at Cyncoed Sport Complex.
It will see the start of a new programme put together for youngsters from 7-16 years old.
Sessions will run from 7.15pm-8.45pm every Wednesday Night from Wednesday 2nd February.
